Welcome to School Year 2008-2009!
Pack 464 invites parents and their sons to become part of one
of America’s leading value-driven organizations.
The Cub Scout program combines fun with educational opportunities and lifelong
values. It helps parents to help their boys strengthen character, develop good
citizenship, and enhance both mental and physical fitness.
The Cub Scouting program also provides boys with a positive peer group and the
tools to shape their future.
In Cub Scouting, boys learn ideals like honesty, bravery, and respect. These
values help boys make constructive decisions throughout their life and give them
the confidence they need to grow and develop. The unique aspect of Cub Scouting
is that you, the family, join the Cub Scout program with your son. You will be
part of his adventure all along the way!
Any boy in the first through fifth grade is welcome to join Pack 464.
Information and Sign-up Session on Tuesday, August 14th at 7 p.m. in the
Cafeteria
Registration:
The registration fee for joining Pack 464 is $75/year * (*see note about
scholarships)
This fee pays for:
• Registration of Scouts with the Boy Scouts of America
• Unit insurance
• Annual Subscription to Boys’ Life magazine
• Class B Uniform Shirt (T-Shirt with Pack Logo)
• Awards (Books, Neckerchiefs, and Badges)
• Pinewood Derby Car and Raingutter Regatta Boat
Uniforms:
An essential component of Cub Scouting is the uniform. Cub Scouts are made to
feel part of a group and have a place to display their awards when they wear
their uniforms. The minimum uniform in Pack 464 is the Pack 464 T-shirt (Known
as a Class B), and it is acceptable to wear to most Scouting events with the
exception of formal Scout functions. New Scouts will be given a Pack T-Shirt
shortly after joining.
Scholarships:
*If fees or costs become an issue for your family, Scholarships are available,
and all requests will remain confidential. We are much more concerned about your
son joining scouts and enjoying what we have to offer than we are about
uniforms, etc. Our goal is to make sure that every boy in our area that wants to
be a Scout has the opportunity to do so.
